A little introduction …. My name is Ritianne Spiteri and I am currently on my fourth year working as a Kindergarten Educator in Malta. Spending time and working with children has always been a passion of mine. Having the power to help a child grow and learn is simply amazing.

I have to admit that after I finished my studies, I had a completely different idea as to how children learn. Following a thematic approach, most activities were adult-led and structured. I often questioned whether this was really the right way for children to learn. Is an educator needed to give out all the information a child needs to know? Or would an educator be more effective by aiding and assisting a child to think, investigate and problem solve questions?

That was until I discovered a whole new way of teaching … Project based learning! The child is at the center of this approach where interests are investigated and explored. The classroom is now a place for children’s voices to be heard. Children learn best by doing, exploring, investigating their questions, solve problems and by making mistakes! Children are driven by curiosity, and it is their curiosity that triggers their eagerness to learn.

This approach will be at the heart of everything I will be posting on this blog. Join me and my curious bunch to show you all the exciting things we do throughout the day and much more!
Let the adventure begin.
